Professor of social sciences and social justice education at The University of Toronto, Abigail Bakan just published her in-depth and insightful feminist analysis of the situation women face after being diagnosed with breast cancer today. She addresses the insidious narrative of “going flat” as an inferior choice, head on, and her writing is informed both by personal experience and by her study of and interaction with the flat advocacy movement.
